CSULB Illustration Professor Robin Richesson illustrates costumes for movie

Posted on December 19, 2018 by School of Art

if_beale_street_could_talk_sketches-publicity-embed_2-2018CSULB Illustration Professor Robin Richesson illustrated the costume designs for the upcoming movie If Beale Street Could Talk. Her works appear in a Hollywood Reporter article this week and coupled with costume designer Caroline Eselin-Schaefer’s words, we see how the costumes do more than just clothe; they also help tell the story. Much of this, as Eselin-Schaefer puts, comes straight from author James Baldwin’s original story: “He gave us the color. He is so descriptive of color of the clothing in the book.”

Congratulations Prof. Richesson!
