CSULB Prints Professor Roxanne Sexier was part of an exhibition Ink and Clay 42, at the W.Keith & Janet Kellogg University Art Gallery, Cal Poly Pomona. Two of her relief prints (on top), respectively titled: “Black Pool,” and “The Bardo” won the Juror’s Choice Ink Award. A third woodcut print, titled “Susurrus” was also exhibited in the exhibition.
Professor Sexauer also has been an artist-in-residence at the Skaftfell Center for Visual Art in Seydisfjordur, Iceland. The theme of the residency was entitled “Printing Matter,” and it was organized by Danish Graphic Designer Ase Eg Jorgensen and held in conjunction with the Technical Museum of East Iceland, as an International exploration of artist’s books and book structures. The folded book structure (on bottom) is titled “Strandartindur,” and was created at the residency.
In April, Prof. Sexauer will be working at the Lily Press, in Rockville Maryland, a fine art printmaking atelier, owned and operated by master printer Susan Goldman. While there, she hopes to edition several relief prints based on various sketchbook images which explore pattern and chance operations.
Congratulations Professor Sexauer!
