School of Art Alumna Adonna Khare Wins $200,000 ArtPrize

Posted on October 29, 2012 by School of Art

CSULB Art alumnus Adonna Khare won first prize in the 2012 ArtPrize Competition, completing a large scale mural at the Grand Rapids Museum in September. ArtPrize, situated in Grand Rapids, Michigan, has become the world’s largest art competition by combining $560,000 in total prizes with an open call for artists, venues, and critics. For more than three weeks, as museum-goers watched her progress, Khare worked on what became a 13-foot by 40-foot pencil-drawn mural.
