Part-Time Faculty Positions

The Department of Art has twelve BA/BFA and twelve MA/MFA programs: Art Education, Art History, Ceramics, Drawing & Painting, Graphic Design, Illustration, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, and 3-D Media in Fiber, or Metal, or Wood. We also have Biomedical Illustration and Museum Studies Certificate Programs, as well as a Foundation Program. Part-time positions are open on a regular basis. Applications are reviewed as received except for the Drawing and Painting Program. Drawing and Painting faculty review applications two times a year for their part-time pool: Review is conducted in May for Fall semester hires, and in December for Spring hires.

We accept applications at any time for part-time teaching positions. To receive the official CSU application form and detailed instructions on how to make an application for part-time teaching employment, you may call 562/985-1859 and at the beep clearly state that you wish to receive an application for part-time teaching giving the area of your expertise and provide your street address, or you may write to California State University, Long Beach, Department of Art, Attention: Administrative Coordinator, 1250 Bellflower Blvd., FA4-102A, Long Beach CA 90840-3501. Once we receive your information, a part-time teaching application packet will be mailed to you in the next outgoing mail.
