Bachelor of Fine Arts: Offered in eight Studio Art programs: Ceramics, Drawing & Painting, Graphic Design, Illustration, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, and 3-D Media (Fiber, Metal, & Wood).
Please Note: Admission to a degree program at California State University, Long Beach depends on which program you are applying to. If you are applying to the B.A. in Art, Art History, or Art Education, then you simply have to be accepted by the University. For the B.F.A. programs, you must submit a portfolio for consideration after you have been at CSULB for a semester or two.
To apply for a portfolio review, you can pick up an application at the Student Services window, FA4-106 during the first 3 weeks of the Fall or Spring semesters. The portfolios are due either mid-October or mid-March, depending on which review you are applying for. We will inform you by mail concerning the content and format of your portfolio several weeks before it’s due date. (See below for information on how to obtain a CSU application, or apply electronically at www.csumentor.edu).
